Warwickshire County Council & Open Identity Exchange Work Together on Digitized Blue Badge Application Pilot: Reporting Positive Results
The Warwickshire County Council and the Open Identity Exchange (OIX), together with Centralized Government services, have been working on a pilot of an online eligibility checker for Blue Badge applications. In the UK, Blue Badges allow disabled drivers or passengers to park closer to their destinations.
In the six months since the Open Identity Exchange published its White Paper, Digital ID Photo Sending Service, the use of digital photographs to assert identity has been gathering pace. In the private sector, venture capital continues to pour into this space. Retailers such as Timpson are exploring opportunities to develop in this field, while governments like Estonia pilot new partnerships with commercial service providers.
